An optimal desert package visiting the highest dunes on earth at Sossusvlei and the coastal town of Swakopmund. From Swakopmund guests have the option of traveling back to Windhoek either by shuttle or by Desert Express (Saturdays, on request).

Minimum of 2 passenger and a maximum of 9 passengers per vehicle. Accommodation ranges from upper good middle class properties on a half board basis.

Day By Day Itinerary

DAY 1: SOSSUSVLEI              
Departing Windhoek, we travel into the Namib Desert with its monumental dunes and ever-changing colours. This is the oldest and driest desert on earth; nevertheless it supports a vast diversity of adapted fauna and flora that accentuate this pristine environment even further. Optional activities at our lodge consist of scenic nature drives and marvellous walking trails.

DAY 2: SOSSUSVLEI             
The best time to experience the Sossusvlei area is at sunrise when the new light paints the dunes and desert plains into a variety of deep reds, apricot and purple – a photographers dream come true! We travel into the heart of the Namib Desert with the highest sand dunes on earth at Sossusvlei. Experience the majestic yet tranquil sossusvlei or the surreal Dead Vlei on foot. We enjoy a picnic lunch under the Camelthorn trees, before traveling back to our lodge via the gaping Sesriem Canyon.

DAY 3: SWAKOPMUND              
Today we travel via the Namib Naukluft Park to Swakopmund, an idyllic coastal town situated between in Namib Desert on the Atlantic Coastline. We travel via the Ghaub and Kuiseb Canyons, geological phenomena from the time when deep lakes covered the entire area millions of years ago.  In Swakopmund we have the option of participating in some of the adventurous activities on offer such as scenic flights, dolphin cruises, quad biking, parasailing, dune boarding, parachuting and kite surfing.

DAY 4:SWAKOPMUND              
We have the day at leisure and can enjoy the coastal town in a variety of ways. Stroll through the historic city with its old colonial buildings, take part in optional adventure activities or simply laze along one of the longest beaches the western coast of Africa has to offer. A late afternoon walk along Swakopmund’s beaches will ensure a hearty appetite when visiting one of the choice restaurants in the evening (dinner not included).

DAY 5:END OF TOUR             
The morning is enjoyed in Swakopmund. In the early afternoon you are transferred back to Windhoek by shuttle or embark the Desert Express to return to Windhoek overnight by luxury train (Saturdays only, on request and additional charge)
